Brand review: Ballet Rosa

Good evening!

I hope you all had a lovely day! I wasn’t feeling my best today but I really wanted to still post something and I hope that although it’s going to be short you enjoy it.

Today I’m doing a small review on a dance wear brand. I’ll be doing different brands in the future but today I’ll be talking about Ballet Rosa.

Ballet Rosa is a Portuguese based brand that has grown up quickly in less than I would say four years. On their website they explain that they have workers with more than fifteen years of experience in ballet attire and that they look for quality and elegance on their designs. They can also arrange a model on demand contacting their electronic email making a personalized leotard if needed.

I personally knew from the brand thanks to my usual ballet shop (Klass Dance Barcelona) where they brought some items of their first collections. I always loved the designs and knowing that one of the lines was in collaboration with Isabelle Ciaravola was an extra point for me as I always saw her as the pure image of elegance and what I like that sometimes! You know, gotta be a nice ballerina looking on point!

My very first purchase was a long sleeve leotard in grey that I used for a neo classical solo for a competition. I couldn’t find the name of the model but I think they discontinued it (which is a shame because it really is beautiful). The material was thick enough to not let anything get see through but still light and very comfortable. The detail of the velvet in the chest area and the mesh sleeves where great points as they made it stand out but on the good way. Also, the combination of the slightly shimmery velvet with the matte lycra in a wonderful deep grey color just made it perfect.

The second and third models I bought were send to me in a ballet summer intensive (Russian Masters Ballet Camp in Alicante) and I must say that very few times I’ve been as excited as that time for getting a parcel!

I got a cap sleeve leotard in a chocolate color with the biggest opened back I’ve ever owned (one of my favorite features in a leotard is a very big opened back) with some velvet patterns as well. Unfortunately I also think this model is discontinued but a very similar one is Josephine that I would like to get sometime in the future in a deep bordeaux color.

The other one is the Romane leotard from the Isabelle Ciaravola collection and wow. This one is a leotard to impress the crowd because is certainly unique. It’s the color skim used and the flower pattern that make it special and how well it just adapts to the body without making any weird cuts or having extra fabric making any wrinkles. It’s fantastic and with this one is better to not wear any skirt, because this one is a beautiful one to show off.

I forgot to mention one that I got almost at the same time as the grey one but I left it for the end because now it’s one of my uniform leotards. It’s the Aura model in white.
The material is very comfortable and it has a lovely high cut that really shapes the leg line beautifully. The detail of the opened back with the original stripes crossing and the heart shaped chest line with some lace on top of it just makes it delicate and elegant. I must say that although I love it, using it every day makes me not love it as much as I did but I know that when I finish wearing white during this year I’ll love again all of my white leotards. All dancers know that white is pretty much the last color you want to wear and just when you’re feeling very much like it you wear it to class.

To finish up, I also got a warmer from the Isabelle Ciaravola collection called Athenais in bordeaux. It’s really comfy and cozy and it’s perfect for spring time because it keeps the hips warm without making you sweat too much when warming up.

I didn't have any picture of me wearing it so
I'm using the one from Ballet Rosa's website.

Final conclusion? Well, you guessed it: I LOVE BALLET ROSA!

Great quality material for a reasonable price, elegant designs and perfect fit. What else could you ask for?

I hope you enjoyed this short post and that you have a wonderful night. If you want, comment down below which brand would you like me to review next!

I’ll see you tomorrow!

Love,

Muriel
